Ramirez Named Assistant Dean

Dr. Alex Ramirez, AASV past-president and associate professor of veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine, has been appointed assistant dean of academic and student affairs effective Jan. 1, 2020. [Source: Iowa State University Dec 2019]
In this role, Ramirez will have direct responsibility for career counseling, scholarships, international programs and the fourth year scheduling orientation. As a leader in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, Ramirez will also provide strategic input in all areas associated with academic and student affairs and will serve as the acting Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs when needed.
"Dr. Ramirez has a passion for teaching, a passion that is evident in everything he does and one I believe is well-suited for this position," said Dr. Dan Grooms, the Dr. Stephen G. Juelsgaard Dean of Veterinary Medicine.
