Veterinary Students: Apply for Podcasting Opportunity by January 8

The AASV is once again providing an opportunity for 30 students to record a podcast interview with an annual meeting speaker during the 2020 AASV Annual Meeting in Atlanta. The effort is rewarded with a $200 stipend. This is a excellent opportunity for students to meet and visit with a respected swine industry professional on a one-to-one basis. The end product is a 5- to 15-minute MP3 podcast available to members on the AASV website. If you're a veterinary student and would like to participate in this program, please send an email with the subject "AASV Student Podcast" to: aasvpodcast@gmail.com. The deadline to respond is January 8th.

The student participants select and contact the speaker they wish to interview, and schedule the recording interview to take place during the annual meeting March 7-10. AASV staff assist with the recording details. The students are encouraged to work with a mentor at their university to develop the interview questions prior to the meeting.

If more than thirty students apply for this opportunity, preference will be given to students who have not participated in the past. An impartial drawing will be held, if necessary, to narrow the field to thirty. If all of the new applicants have been accepted, any remaining positions will be filled by conducting a drawing from applicants who have previously participated.
