Oak Hill Genetics raises animals for medical research, for the advancement in both human and animal medicine. We began selling domestic Yorkshire/Landrace pigs in 1989, and in 1995 started selling mongrel hounds. Oak Hill Genetics is a faith-based company and is guided by Christian principles. We are seeking a veterinarian to fill a management position in the canine production colony and to oversee and perform studies.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and driven to help save lives through medical research. This position has lots of opportunity for growth. We are looking for a self-starter to work and function in a team environment.

Description

This position will be working in production of our canine facility in raising hounds for medical research. In a routine day you could expect the following:

• Daily walk through checking all the animals/swine and canine
• Overseeing the breeding colony
1. Pedigree of the breeders
2. Production of the breeders
• Responsible for herd health
1. Canine vaccination program and health.
2. Administer rabies vaccinations
• Quality Control
1. Canine physicals prior to shipping
• Writing and signing health certificates
• Interact with clients and participate in regulatory visits
• Perform study procedures in accordance with IACUC and protocols
• Writing SOP's

Additional requirements

• The position will include doing animal surgeries and blood draws as needed.
• Must be able to consistently lift 50-80 lbs.
• Must have Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and be able to obtain controlled substance license.
