Let us help you see Australia! SunPork Solutions seeks a friendly, responsible, motivated, animal health professional to join our organisation as a locum for 3-6 months, with an opportunity for permanent, long-term employment by mutual agreement.

Based in South Australia, this is a unique position working directly with SunPork Farms piggeries and personnel as a member of our veterinary team. You will assist in the assessment, monitoring and maintenance of animal health, delivery of training and the development of systems to optimise health, welfare, biosecurity and production.

Your animal health career will be developed with on-farm training where relevant, supported by veterinary and other specialist training across the breadth of piggery production, under the mentorship of the SunPork Solutions and SunPork Farms teams. Generous salary package includes vehicle, laptop and smart phone.

This position would best suit an individual with some experience in pig practice. Large or mixed animal practitioners looking for a change, or new or recent graduates with an interest in pig production are also encouraged to apply.

Continuing professional development (CPD) is strongly supported for permanent employees, and the development of special interests is encouraged. Veterinary registration, CPD and support for relocation is included in permanent packages.

Candidate Attributes

• Specialist pig, large animal or mixed practice veterinary experience preferred. New, recent or pending veterinary graduates with an interest in these areas are encouraged to apply.
• Study in a related discipline, agricultural background, further training or demonstrated interest in pig production highly regarded.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential.
