Webinar May 9: PCV3 – An Emerging Disease?

National Hog Farmer is pleased to announce the second episode of "Science Talks," a new webinar series sponsored by Merck Animal Health, airing on May 9 at 1 p.m. Central. During this one-hour video webinar "PCV3 — An Emerging Disease?", Bailey Arruda, a pathologist from Iowa State University's Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, will discuss what is being seen in the field as well as the potential impact to producers, veterinarians, and industry. Is porcine circovirus 3 an emerging disease? What role is PCV3 playing in the disease complex on my farm? Both are common questions in the swine industry today, and Dr. Arruda will give her diagnostic perspective the webinar.

Arruda is a diagnostic pathologist at the ISU VDL. Her interests include infectious diseases of swine. Her primary expertise is in pathology and pathogenesis of and diagnostic assay development for infectious diseases. Her current research focuses on PCV3 and atypical porcine pestivirus. National Hog Farmer's Senior Staff Writer Kevin Schulz will moderate this event.
