As we continue to grow our services, we are seeking an individual to lead a research-based team to grow our science and discovery in swine health, nutrition and animal welfare. As Director of Contract Research, you will have the opportunity to manage contracted research, as well as design and execute projects hosted in our state-of-the-art company owned research facilities. Primary job responsibilities

• BSL2 Research Facility Oversight including but not limited to scheduling, operations, and regulatory compliance
• Contract Research Trial Execution including animal procurement, data collection, Data QA, Sponsor Liaison
• Compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements for trial execution
• Supervise research technicians and animal care staff
• Research Trial Design
• Contract research trial origination
• Develop and maintain relationships with contract research customers

Essential functions

• Possess a broad base of knowledge and skills requisite for the practice of veterinary medicine.
• Keep abreast of industry developments and apply best practices to areas of improvement
• Demonstrate a scientific approach that is accompanied by ethical and professional attitudes, behaviors and moral principles that are consistent with Pipestone core values
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure profitability and high-quality care for our clients.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Control resources and utilize assets to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets.

Position specifications

• Education: Must possess a DVM with license in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa.
• Experience: Prior experience in swine research industry; Contract Research Experience is preferred.
