Mecadox Shortage Predicted
September 12, 2018 —
Phibro Animal Health is investing in a new manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of Mecadox located within their existing FDA-approved production site in Israel. The transition from the current manufacturing facility to the new facility is underway, with a projection of mid-to-late 2019 for commercial scale production. This change was prompted, in part, by the decision of the third party company, which produced the active ingredient of Mecadox for Phibro, to cease production in order to dedicate their facilities to products for human medicine.
Due to the change in manufacturing facility, Phibro will be experiencing a shortage of Mecadox over the next several months. Phibro's sales and technical team members are standing by to assist you with alternate Phibro product options to help address your animal health needs until Mecadox supply resumes.
