AASV Social Media Competition

As many of you are aware, we started a social media campaign at AASV 2018 to try to raise social awareness of our meeting in a positive way. Many of us have attended media training sessions and one of the messages is always, "Tell your story before someone else tells it for you."

We had 14 participants this year. They were busy throughout the meeting posting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat about everything that was going on at AASV 2018 from scientific learning to food and social events. An esteemed panel of judges, consisting of Drs. Katie Woodard, Brent Pepin, and Trevor Martin judged the contestants based on 5 categories: content of message, professionalism, creativity, interest level, and positive impact on AASV.

The results of the #AASV 2018 Social Media Extravaganza are in!
Congratulations to:

  • 1st place ($250) Rachel Schulte
  • 2nd place ($100) Chris Rademacher
  • 3rd place ($50) Shamus Brown

Thanks to all of our participants for their great efforts in blitzing multiple social media platforms with informative, creative posts. The results reflected the efforts of all as it was a very close race. Special thanks to the judging panel for monitoring all the social media sites throughout the meeting. In addition, we gave participants the opportunity to voice their opinion by voting through the conference mobile app for the People's Choice award. This $100 prize was also won by our future DVM, Rachel Schulte.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all for raising social media awareness of AASV 2018!
