A number of years ago, NPPC teamed with AASV to develop the Swine Veterinarians Public Policy Advocacy Program to train AASV members about advocacy efforts in Washington, DC. Over 60 of our members have gone through the program. NPPC recently sponsored a group to return to DC and educate Congressional offices about the importance of supporting an FMD vaccine bank. Upon leaving the fourth Congressional office of the day, one of our delegation was overheard to exclaim, "Damn, being nice is exhausting!"
